Reporter Stops Kisses: Mike Tobin Not Cool With Kissing Ambush (VIDEO)
You can always respect a little professionalism in the media these days. Often the antics of attention seekers are enflamed by the reaction they get from the media.
Two such attention seekers attempted a trick on Tuesday in Boston. Few folks have shown the level of calm and professionalism that news broadcaster Mike Tobin showed Tuesday during and airing of “Studio B With Shepherd Smith.”
Tobin was reporting live from Boston as he covered a story on the timeline of events surrounding the Boston Marathon Bombers. During the broadcast, two women attempted to kiss him on either cheek.
It is unclear what the women’s motives were behind the inappropriate show of affection to a total stranger. Tobin never missed a beat as he calmly pushed the women away and politely said, “Please do not do that again.”
Many people appreciated how Tobin paid very little attention to the women’s antics, but simply asked them to stop. According to www.ibtimes.com the footage of the incident quickly went viral and Tobin was lauded on several social media sites for his professionalism.
Tobin took to his Twitter to express his views on the incident, and said that the attempted kiss was not cool.
“Heckling comes with the biz. But it’s not like they would not no the sbjct. I hope their friends let thm no it wz inappropriate,” Tobin tweeted on April 22.
It is apparent how serious Mr. Tobin takes his profession. Such composure and integrity are refreshing in this day and age.
