We are sure that lawyers have heard every excuse in the book for why their client can’t fulfill their upcoming jail or prison sentences. Jenelle Evans of Teen Mom 2 had one of the most frivolous excuses yet. Jenelle Evans actually told her lawyer she couldn’t fulfill her upcoming jail sentence because she had tickets to a Kesha concert.

“I really can’t miss that concert,” she says in the 2012 video. “That’s why I got all these feathers in my hair. I bought clothes for the concert. I set up hotel rooms for the concert.”

Pretty lame excuse, right? Definitely not one that was worthy of a pardon from fulfilling a debt to society while we are sure that the court system was about as impressed with the amount of preparation Evans put in as they were with her defense.

Well, now in 2014 Rihanna has used that humorous clip to promote her Monster Tour by doing her version of that scenario. Rihanna posted a copy of the incident Saturday on Instagram with her own video starring herself in a similar situation.

By emulating Evans but changing the “can’t miss concert” to Rihanna, the cheeky protest makes her audience who is familiar with Teen Mom laugh as they realize how very important going to see the star perform is. While the ditzy excuse did not work for Jenelle Evans, we will see if it much more successful for growing crowd attendance and making ticket sales for the talented Rihanna.
