Dancing Naked is a No No

Four Saudi Arabian men have been charged with dancing naked after a video surfaced of them on YouTube.com. The bizarre thing is that none of the men look as if they are in the nude while in the video. The men are simple dancing on a car and having fun.

However, that did not stop the law from sentencing one man with ten years in prison. If that were not bad enough, he will also receive two thousands lashes of corporal punishment on top of their time spent in jail. Another supposed naked dancers were sentenced to seven years and twelve hundred lashes while two others were given three year sentences with five hundred lashes.

This sentence pretty harsh even if the men had been actually dancing naked. Unfortunately, the crime was committed in a very old fashioned and religious area called Qassim. Their ultimate charge was corrupting social behaviors that go against “normal” beliefs. Normal for Saudi Arabia means that one should not act out in public disgracefully- which men did when they posted their video online. The worst part is that they will be paying a rather dire punishment for the fifteen minutes of Internet fame that they received.
