Selena Gomez Underwent Two Week Rehab in January

Tabloid site Radar Online broke the news story that Selena Gomez, the 21-year-old singer and actress, checked herself into the facility known as Dawn at The Meadows which is located in the quiet town of Wickenburg, Arizona. The reasons for the fortnight stay at the facility was to deal with what she has termed are “emotional issues”.

Judging from the activity on her Twitter account, the time she was in rehab was between January 5 and 20. It was during that time she went into a Twitter black-out. Thus far, all that she has confirmed regarding the treatment is that it was not for substance abuse. The young singer had recently canceled her “Stars Dance” world tour just as she was to conduct the Australian and Asian legs of the tour.

A photo of a quietly smiling and meditating Gomez has been posted on Instagram. As news of her rehab became public knowledge, there was speculation that her former bad-boy and wannabe “thug rapper” boyfriend Justin Bieber was somehow to blame. It’s not too hard to believe that he might have been a bad influence especially given his recent antics. What is known is that Gomez had the good sense to get help before her problems got the better of her.
