Teacher Hits Student Over Football Team Joke

Teacher Knocks Out Student Over Barb Concerning His Favorite Team
Beaumont, Texas – Reginald Walls got more he bargained struck up a conversation with the school’s assistant math instructor. During the conversation, he made a quip about the teacher’s favorite team to which the adult male punched him in the arm. Walls responded back by pushing the teacher in the shoulder which was took the encounter to a completely different level.
Before 12-year-old Walls literally knew what hit him, he was momentarily blacked out suffering from a swollen left side of his face, a fat lip, and a headache. It turns out the instructor had sucker punched him.
“All of a sudden he just hit me, in my shoulder … and I looked at him like ‘what the heck?'” Wells told 12 News. When the seventh-grader attempted to push the teacher away, the man, whose name has not been disclosed, punched him in the face, knocking him unconscious.
“The left side of my face was numb … my lip hurt … my head was hurt, like it had been shaken,” Wells said. He was reportedly out cold for several seconds.
The teacher has since been dismissed from the school, but Walls’ parents do not feel that a loss of income is a sufficient disciplinary action and are seeking an attorney to explore their options.
“For you to just let a teacher do that to him and just walk off, he’s fired and walks off, I can’t accept that,” Adrianne Wells told 12 News. She adds that, when confronted by his deed, the teacher said, “I can’t apologize for what I did, I was just having a bad day and I just snapped.”
The school’s principal acknowledged that the instructor had given the boy a righteous uppercut to the face.
The school also wasted no time in terminating the instructor and removing him off the premises. However, the parents are demanding that the instructor be charged with criminal assault.
Thus far, the school district considers the matter resolved with the instructor’s termination of employment. For now, it appears that the Walls family will need to pursue the path of justice without the aid of the school.
