Carolers make terminally ill girl’s dream come true

The last Christmas wish of an eight-year-old Pennsylvania girl was granted on Saturday when thousands of people showed up outside of her West Reading home to sing Christmas carols.
Delaney Brown was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in May and has recently been given just days to live by her doctors. Thousands answered the call, when they learned Delaney requested to hear carolers as one of her last wishes.

Her family has been working to grant as many of those wishes as they are able to in these last few weeks. Laney also got to speak with music sensation, Taylor Swift, her favorite performer, by video chat on FaceTime a few days ago, to celebrate her eighth birthday. And then on Saturday, the carolers, who some say numbered 10,000, filled the streets outside of Laney’s home, and sang, among others, “Joy to the World,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Silent Night.” Laney held two thumbs up in a photo taken by her family to let the singers know that they had made her wish come true and she could hear the music.

Over 89,000 people are following a Facebook page that her family is keeping, entitled “Team Laney.”
