Three Bodies Found On Farm, Police Now Searching For Suspects
A rural community close to Ottawa, Kansas has been rocked by the discovery of three bodies on a farm and the news that police are treating the deaths as homicide.
The bodies of two adult men and an adult woman were found by friends of the residents of the property; the discovery followed members of the local Sheriff’s Department searched the home and found nothing despite reports of a foul smell at the property. Friends of the residents reported the smell after going to check on the residents who had not been heard from recently.
Returning to the house Monday Kortni McGill, Corey Schlotzhauer and Shona Osladil decided to investigate the smell for themselves after deputies claimed the odor was rotting trash a day earlier.
The friends quickly discovered a decomposing body beneath a tarp covered in trash, thought to have been placed there in a bid to hide the body.
“I reached down and saw teeth through the square in the cinder block. I said, ‘Corey, there’s a body here,’” Kortni McGill said.
“I’m very frustrated,” she said. “Without us going out there how long would it have been before they found that body?”
Police from nearby Kansas City are waiting to discover if the body of the woman is that of 21 year old Kaylie Bailey who has been missing from her Kansas City home since Friday with her daughter Lana. Bailey is thought to have been involved in a relationship with one of the residents of the Ottawa property.
According to reports, investigators aren’t releasing details regarding how the victims died, saying it is crucial to their investigation. The baby, Lana Bailey, has yet to be found. They are, however, looking for two men in connection with the murders: Kyle Flack, 27, and Cyle Mathew Bailey, 22.
According to reports, they are believed to be driving a Toyota Corolla. Bailey has allegedly been in touch with the authorities in an attempt to clear his name and he is no longer a person of interest in the investigation. Flack lives on the property where the bodies were found.
