Vergara Will Use Surrogate, Has Eggs Frozen
Actress Sofia Vergara is denying reports that motherhood is pending for her and fiancé Nick Loeb, but does admit that when she does plan to have children, she has already froze her eggs and when the time is right will choose to have a child using a surrogate.
‘Well, because I froze my eggs. I had to go to my doctor’s office a hundred million times to do injections,’ Sofia told Cosmopolitan when asked about the rumours.
‘The [rumour] probably came from that. My doctor had told me “We have a small window.” I said,
“That’s so rude!”
‘I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that. But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation.’
The 40-year actress, one of the most popular stars of the TV comedy “Modern Family”, says that a bout with thyroid cancer and the radiation treatment it required no longer makes it possible for her to carry a child to term. Vergara already has a 20-year old son from a previous relationship.
Vergara says that she and her fiancé have discussed having their own family together, but the busy actress admits that having a baby right now is not something that is a top priority for either of them. She is, however, planning for the future by already having frozen some of her eggs for use with a surrogate when the timing is appropriate for the couple.
Although the happy couple got engaged on Sofia’s 40th birthday, they are no in hurry to make it official. She recently commented that a variety of commitments are causing her to “work like an animal”, so any baby plans will have to wait until her busy acting, modeling and advertising schedule calms down.
