Seinfeld Star Takes to Twitter to Refute Death Rumor

Funny man Wayne Knight, best known for his role as Newman on the hit series “Seinfeld”, has taken to twitter to prove that the stories of his death have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, he also chided the fans in a sense by saying that his social networking trend increased only due to news that he had passed away. Once again, internet death hoaxers punked gullible fans with rumors that that the actor and comedian had lost his life in a tragic car accident.

To quell the rumors, Knight tweeted that he was alive and well aware that the news would bring delight to some and disappointment to others. He then opined as to whether it truly takes a death to trend on the social networking site, but ended his pithy remarks with gratitude to all those expressing their affections for him. The pranksters for this latest death hoax launched the rumor from a website called “TMZ.today” which was meant to shadow the more reputable tabloid site TMZ.com.

The pranksters went to great lengths to detail Knight’s death. They cited the location of the so-called accident and names of the people and hospital involved. The death was said to have taken place close to Eldred Township which is located in Pennsylvania close to New York. Now, Knight joins the list of people who have been given fake obituaries including Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, rapper Usher, Adam Sandler, Christian Slater and others. Well, at least it gave Knight some free publicity.
