Toronto Santa Claus Parade

Toronto is gearing up for the 109th Santa Claus Parade, which begins at 12:30 pm. This means that the parade route will ask on-lookers to clear the streets by 11:50 am. This allows time for spectators to disburse because this will be the first year for the Holly Jolly 5Km Fun Run.

The Fun Run kicks off 30 minutes before the Santa Claus Parade, and they follow the parade route.

The 2,000 who are pre-registered for the Fun Run take-off at noon at Bloor St., east of Bathurst St. With the $100 registration fee that helps defray the parade costs, every participant gets a hat and mittens at the starting area.

The Toronto Santa Claus Parade starts at 12:30 pm and lasts 2.5 hours, rain or shine.
Needless to say, traffic in downtown Toronto is going to be a challenge on Sunday until 5pm. Drivers traveling through Toronto are advised to take alternative routes. Public transportation will be running as scheduled, and is the preferred way of transportation for spectators.

The parade and Fun Run route is as follows:
• Eastbound: Bloor Street West
• Southbound: Queen’s Park Crescent East
• Southbound: University Avenue
• Eastbound: Wellington Street West
• Eastbound: Front Street East, finishing at Jarvis Street

These streets will be closed at the following times:

    • Bloor Street West: Ossington Avenue to Christie Street at 8 a.m.
    • Bloor Street West: Christie Street to Bathurst Street at 10 a.m.
    • Bloor Street West: Bathurst Street to Bay Street at 10:45 a.m.
    • Avenue Road: Davenport Road to College Street at 10:45 a.m.
    • University Avenue: College Street to Dundas Street at 11 a.m.
    • University Avenue: Dundas Street to Front Street at 11:15 a.m.
    • Wellington Street: University Avenue to Jarvis Street at 11:30 a.m.
    • Front Street: Bay Street to Jarvis Street at 11:45 a.m.

Can’t make it to toronto for the parade?

CP24 will air the parade live from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, CTV stations in Ontario and Quebec will air the parade at 4:30 pm. CTV stations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia will air the parade at 4:00 pm, and CTV-owned CTV Two Atlantic will air the parade at 5:00 pm.[4][5][6]
