NYC cop arrested in SUV incident

Wojciech Braszczok has been deemed by prosecutors to be an active participant in the SUV chase up Manhattan’s West Side a few weeks ago. Wojciech failed to take any action to prevent the incident and afterwards not only failed to report it until days later, but when he did eventually get around to admitting his presence he lied to change his story saying he only watched, alleges the Assistant District Attorney Samantha Turino.

The incident began a few weeks ago when contact was made between the Range Rover driven by victim Alexian Lien and occupied by his wife and young daughter, made contact with a motorcyclist who was part of a large group of other bikers. They soon swarmed the SUV until the driver took off, crushing a biker under his car. Lien was then chased, pulled out of his SUV and beaten.

Wojciech’s lawyer argues that the video evidence actually proves his clients innocence, and argues that he didn’t intervene due to his undercover status. A fact that CBS news correspondent, and former NYPD deputy commissioner John Miller appears to agree with, after stating that arresting Wojciech ‘may have compromised a larger investigation’ according to CBS news.

Third Suspect Arraigned in Connection with SUV Driver Beating Inicident

Manhattan, New York City – a third suspect has been arraigned in connection with the SUV driver who was chased down by a motorcycle gang, forcibly dragged out of the car and beaten. A digital recording was made of the chase and beating which has since gone viral.

The suspect is 37-year-old Reginald Chance, the motorcyclist who was seen using his helmet to dash the driver side window and subsequently pull the driver out of the car. The driver was 33-year-old Alexian Lien who was beaten in the presence of his wife and toddler.

On September 29, Lien and his family were returning home when a biker cut in front of their SUV as he was leaving a rally of some sort. Lien drew too close to the motorcycle and made contact with it. That prompted a group of bikers to surround Lien’s car. Lien panicked and in his haste to pull away from the situation, he ran over one of the bikers named Edwin Mieses Jr. The rest of the bikers then pursued Lien ultimately catching up with him and beating him. Had it not been for the intervention of a bystander, Lien may have been beaten to death.

Motorcyclists Chase Down Range Rover, Beat Driver

A 33-year-old man was recently released from Columbia University Medical Center after being treated for wounds stemming from a violent altercation with a group of angry motorcyclists.

Alexian Lien, 33 of lower Manhaton, was driving a black Range Rover that included his wife and 2-year-old daughter as passengers. The chase began when the driver apparently clipped a passing motorcyclist who cut closely in front him.

As many as thirty motorcyclists, who had gathered to take part in a rally called “Hollywood Stuntz,” chased after the Range Rover for over six minutes. During the course of the chase, the motorcyclists tried to rip open the driver’s side door, slashed the driver’s tires and smashed in the driver’s side window with a helmet, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. Some of the other bikers then surrounded the SUV.

“They take their helmets and start to dent his car, and apparently his tires are slashed there with a knife,” Kelly said.

Once the Range Rover was finally immobilized, the driver was taken out of the car and beaten by a group of the motorcyclists. Most of the chase was caught on video, which was subsequently posted to YouTube.

By the time cops reached the scene, the bikers had driven off, leaving the beaten Lien lying face-down on the pavement.

The consensus on online is Lien is not at fault.

First those motorcyclists start taunting the guy, instead of driving away. Then one of them has the nerve to cause an accident (the little bump). Then they start scaring the crap out of him. So he guns it, I would in the same situation. Then they attack him while he can not escape. People like them make all motorcyclists look like? assholes and a danger to society.

Newsflash. Bikes can outrun and outmaneuver suvs. So if ur surrounded by 30-50 obvious daredevil andraneline junkies, got ur family n the car, you may want to just move to the right n let them by. This was bad all the way around. But it could have been worse. Devils advocate. Sometimes when u push people in a corner and they feel their family and themselves threatened, they push back. Respect each other and each others boundaries n this wouldn’t have happened. Praying for? all yal.k

No arrests have been made, but police are continuing their investigation using the YouTube video and a surveillance video taken from a gas station where the bikers stopped.

Lien, who is reportedly the director of the e-commerce firm Skrill.com, was rushed to Columbia University Medical Center, where he received stitches to his face and chest and had two black eyes, the report said. Edwin Mieses, one of the motorcycle riders struck by Lien, may be left a paraplegic, the report said.

Police said Lien is not expected to be charged, but the investigation is continuing.

According to the New York Daily News, police are using the video and surveillance cameras try to identify some of the bikers, but most of the motorcycles didn’t have license plates and riders’ faces were obscured by their helmets.
