USA Today Survey Finds Single Women Want Teeth & Good Grammar

A study conducted by USA Today on what single women most want out of men has been published. The top priorities sought for by women were the following in descending order of importance: teeth 58%, grammar 55%, hair 51%, clothes 45%, have/not have tattoos 40%, nails/hands 37%, their accent 19%, shoes 18%, the car they drive 13%, and lastly the electronic devices they carry 9%.

Helen Fischer, an adviser for Match.com, said that from an evolution standpoint women putting value on teeth makes sense. Fischer said that teeth are an indication of health which is necessary for the perpetuation of the species. Fischer developed the survey.

“From a Darwinian perspective, good teeth are a real indication of your health — how much you drink, smoke, what you’re eating,” she says.

The next item of importance was grammar. Women are looking for men who can express themselves properly and grammar is an indication of education of self-respect. It is important to note that men surveyed also found teeth and grammar the top priorities they look for in a date.

Ladies do you agree with the survey? What do you think is the most important quality when seeking a mate?
