WWE Superstar Randy Orton Attacked by Fan in South Africa

Randy Orton won WWE’s Money in the Bank ladder match a few weeks ago. The win gives him the opportunity to challenge either champion in WWE at any time. Unfortunately, a fan recently challenged Orton to a fight at a house show in South Africa. This particular fan actually blindsided the superstar from behind as he made his in-ring entrance. Such incidents do pop up from time to time.

Orton had made his way into the ring and was on the turnbuckle striking a pose. As seen on a YouTube video (below), a fan in attendance rushed into the ring, reports the WWE.

He then proceeded to sucker punch Orton in the groin from behind. The wrestler fell to the mat before getting up and going after his attacker. By then, security had dragged the intruder from the ring and was escorting him away.

The fan will now face various charges by the South African authorities. Aside from temporary pain, Orton is perfectly fine and proceeded with his match. Audience members have interfered at WWE events numerous times over the years. In previous instances, those unruly intruders have been handed a beating by wrestlers or security. It’s no laughing matter when a person really attacks someone that puts on a scripted show.
