Is Brian Williams angry or bemused over NBC’s “Rock Center” shuffle?

NBC seems a bit antsy about when to air “Rock Center with Brian Williams”.

The show, which debuted on Monday nights, was moved to Wednesday, then Thursday, before the latest reshuffling.

The Hollywood Reporter suggests that the “NBC News” anchor might be upset after he closed “Rock Center” on Feb. 8 by calling Friday the show’s “latest resting place.” But “Rock Center” executive producer Alexandra Wallace, alluding to Williams’ penchant for deadpan humor, dismissed the report in a statement to TVGuide.com. “Brian’s take on our new time slot was truly funny and the furthest thing from angry,” Wallace said.

Still, despite a strong showing on its first Friday, Rock Center was up against CBS hit “Blue Bloods” which outdrew it by more than 5.5 million viewers in the 10 p.m. time slot. The Hollywood Reporter also cited sources saying that Williams is peeved that plans to expand the program to multiple days went nowhere.

Alexandra Wallace, the executive producer for “Rock Center,” issued a statement to The Huffington Post about the show:

“Brian’s take on our new time slot was truly funny and the furthest thing from ‘angry.’ He made light of our travels through the schedule — and we are all thrilled by Rock Center’s strong ratings after our Friday night debut. We look forward to settling down in our new home.”
