Icy Deadly Car Accident in Cleveland: Teen Killed

A sixteen year old Cleveland teen lost his life on an icy highway in Tulsa County on Saturday.

After leaving a movie the teen called his parents informing them that he was on his way home. At some point along the way he lost control of his truck, collided with a guardrail and became airborne before it fell into a snowy embankment.

It has been discovered that the sixteen year old was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. In addition, the teenager was likely driving too fast for the dangerous road conditions.

Before the driver of the truck was found just before 1:00 a.m on Highway 412, a missing persons report was received by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. This report led authorities to the teen who was ejected from the vehicle. After being asked about the unfortunate accident Trooper Matthew Middleton said, The minor was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected quite a distance from his vehicle.”

Although he was transported to a local hospital he was soon pronounced dead. It is believed that if he had been wearing his seatbelt, he may have survived the crash.

As a result of this accident authorities caution everyone to drive safety and always wear their seatbelt.
