Dr. Pepper Sends Ravens Kicker Tucker Congratulatory Gift

Kicker Justin Tucker has a well-earned reputation as a successful kicker in the NFL. In his team’s most recent victory over the Detroit Lions, Tucker scored all of his team’s 18 points with six field goals. Thus far, Tucker has hit 35 of 37 field goal attempts.

To celebrate the victory, Dr. Pepper sent Tucker six bottles of their popular soda, one for each field goal. The gift had mini-cans for the short-distance goals and progressively larger sizes up to 2-liter bottles for the longer distances. The field goal distances struck by Tucker were 29 yards, 24 yards, 32 yards, 49 yards, 53 yards, and 61 yards. Put another way, Tucker made a field goal from his team’s 39-yard line. The goal was three short of the NFL record set earlier this year by Matt Prater of the Denver Broncos.

However, Tucker claims he can break that record if the weather is right. In the pregame ahead of Monday night’s matchup with the Lions, Tucker claims to have hit a 70-yard field goal. His longest was during team practice and was 79-yards long. That would mean he was at his team’s 21-yard line when he hit the goal. That is usually the distance from which any other team would decide to issue a punt.
