TV’s “Lou Grant” Hospitalized for Exhaustion

(eCanadaNow) – Actor Ed Asner, beloved by fans of the television show “Mary Tyler Moore” and “Lou Grant” was rushed to the hospital while performing in Gary, Indiana and is being treated for exhaustion.

According to the Huffington Post, the 83-year old Asner has been touring the country for the past three and half years portraying President Franklin Roosevelt in a one man show called “FDR”. Asner was performing at the Marquette Pavilion in Gary when he became too ill to continue the show and was taken to a medical center in nearby Chicago. Doctors report he is comfortable and is expected to be released in a day or two.

Asner’s illness comes just a week after former MTM castmate Valerie Harper announced to fans that she was diagnosed with a rare form of terminal brain cancer. Asner recently phoned Harper when she appeared on “The Doctors” talk show to wish her well and offer his love and support.
