Gerald Butler talks his way out of a speeding ticket

If you want to get out of a speeding ticket, it would probably be best to take acting lessons from actor Gerard Butler. The Scottish actor shared his story about his account with a police officer after the cop spotted him driving over 100 miles per hour. According to Butler, the punch line that saved him from a hefty ticket fine was telling the officer that he was busy saving the world.

The incident occurred while he was filming his new movie “Olympus Has Fallen.” The “300” star said that he was tense as he was driving at such a high speed when he noticed that he had passed a police car. He also said that the cop had put his lights on before he even passed the officer. Butler stated “I have been pulled over by a few cops, but they usually follow you for five minutes and make you sweat. But this guy realized, I ain’t following him, he’s gone.”

It may be safe to presume that a great actor should really believe in their acting role to dish out their best performance. Butler did realize that his work on the film was the reason that he acted out of character. Is it possible that Butler really believed he was busy saving the world? That would be doubtful. It did work in this situation though, and that is all that matter.
