Is PS4 Blue Light of Death fixable?
Reviews are being posted all over social media giant Twitter and online retailer Amazon in regards to how this blue light of death appeared first and what kind of toll it has on each console it hits.
Sony hasn’t been offering any major comments on this issue and continue to refer its customers to their customer support forums in which getting a response out of the right officials may take weeks or even months.
“There have been several issues reported, which leads us to believe there isn’t a singular problem that could impact a broader percentage of PS4 units,” a Sony spokesman told Bloomberg. “We also understand that some units were reportedly damaged during shipping.”
“No other consoles in the U.S. sold 1 million sets during the first day, so I think having some issue is not unusual,” Hideki Yasuda, an analyst at Ace Research Institute in Tokyo, said by phone. “In the long term, the major problem will be whether it can continue to provide interesting game software.”
Consumers among each other figured out the best solution to fixing this problem is sending the damaged consoles back to Sony headquarters with a copy of the receipt and receiving a working one in return a few days later.
This problem is not affecting playstation sales due to the minimal amount of damaged consoles reported.
Some PS4 owners have posted videos of the glitch on YouTube:
