It seems that Sports Illustrated supermodel Kate Upton has switched her allegiance from baseball to basketball. There are reports that she has moved on from her romance with baseball player Justin Verlander and is now an item with NBA star Blake Griffin.
The pair was recently seen together partying at a New York City nightclub surrounded by a group of Griffin’s professional athlete buddies. Upton and Griffin rendezvoused just before the clock struck twelve to enjoy a few tequila shooters and a dinner of Mexican fare.
Onlookers report that the two seemed very comfortable with each other, and displayed such signs of public affection as holding hands and cuddling close throughout the evening. When the party at the Beauty & Essex ended, Upton and Griffin didn’t want their evening to end.
They left the night spot for another hot spot located just down the street and stayed there with friends until closing time. Some people wonder if the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model is just trying to make Detroit Tigers star Verlander jealous since the two parted ways.
From the cozy way the two interacted with each other, new squeeze Griffin obviously likes what he sees. Upton, who began her modeling career in 2008, was an SI cover girl two years running.
