Upton’s Busy Schedule Makes Her Decline Teen’s Prom Date

Los Angeles high school student Jake Davidson had high hopes that he could secure a date for the prom with Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton by making a personal video appeal posted on the Internet last week.

Not only did the prom date proposal get Upton’s attention, she tweeted a reply that she would check her schedule to see if she had time available to attend the senior’s high school dance and in addition, she surprised her biggest fan with a personal phone call that aired on NBC’s “Today” Show.

Davidson got a cold dose of reality, however, when Upton was interviewed by People Magazine.

According to UPI, although she said she was really flattered by receiving the prom date proposal and characterized his inventive way of asking her out as “cute”, she tried to let the lad down gently by admitting she didn’t think she was going to be able to free up the time necessary to attend the school event because her schedule was already so tight and jam-packed with other commitments.

Upton also indicated that she finds that men who are confident and have a sense of humor the most attractive candidate for dates. Looks like a no for Davidson, although Upton’s representative says she’s still reviewing her schedule.

The video posted in March 16th shows Davidson explaining his good hygiene and an attempt to impress the model with his bare chest. Comparing himself to Upton, Davidson explains he is 5’9″ compared to Upton’s 5’10”; the schoolboy also states he is Jewish and cannot dance.

“I’m Jewish, 5’9″ on a really good day –- and I can’t dance. At all,” the L.A. resident jokes. “You’re Christian, 5’10”, and that Cat Daddy video should have won an Oscar for best short film. You could say this is destiny.”

“I’m going to be real with you here, I don’t have a girlfriend,” Davidson confesses. “Kate, great moments are born from great opportunity. And that, is what you have here today. A chance to make a nice guy’s senior year the best ever.”

“Kate, we can ride around all night long — till 11, that’s my curfew,” he continues. “But really, it would mean the world to me if you came and I would do anything to make sure you get here.”
