Mall Carjacking Leaves One Dead: Manhunt Underway
Two men carjacked a couple Sunday night and shot Dustin Friedman to death in front of his wife in Short Hills, N.J. Friedland and his wife were approached in the parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills while returning to their silver Range Rover after an evening of shopping.
According to the New York Daily News online, the suspects left the scene of the murder in the Friedland’s SUV. The 2012 silver Range Rover was discovered in Newark and police swarmed the vehicle Monday morning. The two unidentified suspects were not with the SUV and are still at large.
The victim, Dustin Friedman, was a 30-year-old attorney from Hoboken working as a project manager at a firm in Neptune analyzing construction related legal claims. His widow is also an attorney, and the couple planned to have their first child soon.
CBSLocal.Com in New York is reporting on their website that authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. The silver Range Rover was found behind an abandoned and boarded up house on Renner Avenue in Newark just 11 miles from the scene.
