Armed police order man out of bed… for having TV remote!

Michelle Malone, 46 and Keith Abrahams, 44 were rudely awoken when an armed team of 18 police officers made their way into the couple’s home at 1am. Abrahams was awoken first followed by Malone who awoke to see her husband up against the wall, being arrested at gunpoint.

Earlier in the evening, the couple had placed a 911 emergency call when Malone was having an anxiety attack. After leaving, the paramedic reportedly called the police department stating that Abrahams was in possession of a pistol and was threatening Malone. According to the couple, Abrahams was watching television when he fell asleep in bed; the paramedic must have misidentified the tv remote control for a gun.

The couple were woken from bed and taken down to the local precinct for questioning under the premise that Keith Abrahams was in possession of and had earlier been waving around 10 inch firearm at his wife. After a four hour long interrogation, both Malone and Abrahams were cleared to leave; no charges were issued. However, both Malone and Abrahams are appalled at the way they were treated and are subsequently filing a complaint against the West Mercia Police. No signs of a gun were found in the home.
