Mississippi State Bulldog Mascot Injured On Field

The Bulldog mascot for the Mississippi State football team, affectionately known as Bully, was injured recently on the field during the team’s game with Ole Miss. Bully was struck by a TV cart operated by ESPN. An unidentified female was portraying the Mississippi State mascot when the injury occurred and she displayed such loyalty to the team that she kept her canine headgear in place even as she was carried off the field by an emergency medical team.

The accident happened during the annual Egg Bowl rivalry game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Medical personnel attended to the victim by placing an air cast on her leg and officials later reported that the woman has suffered a broken left leg with compound fractures.

Her injuries were severe enough to require emergency surgery on Thanksgiving Day, with a follow-up surgical procedure the following day.

It has not been determined how the Bulldog mascot got tangled up with a golf cart operated by an ESPN employee and the accident put somewhat of a damper on the celebration by Mississippi State fans who were overjoyed about their team’s victory over Ole Miss. It is not known how long “Bully” will be hospitalized.
