Two Women Claiming to be Love Children from the Late Nelson Mandela Come Forward

Johannesburg, South Africa – Two woman have reached out to executors of the estate of late South African civil rights leader Nelson Mandela. The two woman claim to be his love children. As per an estate attorney for Nelson Mandela, the women are not aiming to get any of the money from his estate which would include royalties from the use of his image. The royalties are expected to produce a long-term stream of revenue.

What the women seek is recognition as daughters of the iconic figure who was beloved the world over. Mandela died at the age of 95 this past December and was buried in what became a global event bringing in former and sitting world leaders. Onica Mothoa, one of Mandela’s alleged love children, has taken DNA tests to establish Mandela’s paternity. The other woman, Mpho Pule, is being represented posthumously since she died in 2009. She had tried for over a decade to make contact with Mandela.

The women claim to have been fathered by Mandela during his first marriage. His first wife had accused him of philandering. In both cases, recognition is what the women seek and both are explicitly not in search of money.
