Actor Patrick Stewart has the best solution for avoiding feeling his 73 years. The popular “Star Trek” and “X-Men” star has married a woman who is 38 years his junior.
Fellow actor Ian McKellen officiated at the nuptials held in Los Angeles when Stewart wed girlfriend Sunny Ozell, a 35 year old singer/songwriter he had met in 2008 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Stewart announced his third marriage to fans by posting a funny photograph of the couple covered up to their necks in multi-colored balls, with only their smiling faces showing.
“Sir Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell were married on Saturday afternoon, September 7, beside Lake Tahoe in front of approximately 100 guests, including family and friends,” Stewart’s rep tells E! News. “The bride wore a white French lace dress by English designer Temperley London.”
The British star also happily shared the news on Twitter.
“Yes, married,” Stewart tweeted
McKellen, who has co-starred with Stewart recently on Broadway, admitted that he was able to perform the marriage ceremony which joined the two lovebirds by obtaining a special “one-day marriage designation” certification from the State of Massachusetts.
He created a bit of a stir by initially announcing his plans to marry Stewart, only to clarify his comments that he would serve as minister rather than groom.
“I’m going to marry Patrick,” McKellen announced while on the Jonathan Ross Show in March. “I am going to officiate at his wedding.”
This is the third trip down the aisle for Stewart, who is planning a return to the big screen soon in another “X-men” sequel. He was previously married to Sheila Falconer as well as Wendy Neuss and has two children from his first marriage.
