Razor blade found in croissant at a Dunkin’ Donuts

A woman eating a croissant, Priscilla Salas, from a Connecticut Dunkin’ Donuts got more than she bargained for when she felt a sharp pain in her mouth when she was biting into one of their products. She discovered that there were pieces of a razor embedded in the pastry that cut her. Police told her that the pieces, which were about a quarter of an inch long, may have been remnants from a box cutter.

A Dunkin’ Donuts representative told reporters that this was an isolated incident. They went on to comment that customer safety is very important, and that they are working with the store, where the incident occurred, in order to further investigate. Salas commented on the incident by telling reporters, “I was just floored completely.” She went on to say that she is a regular customer at Dunkin’ Donuts, stopping there almost every day, and that she had not had any other problems at any other time with the company’s food.

Dunkin’ Donuts informed Salas that they were going to send her a gift card along with an apology for her inconvenience, but Salas isn’t interested in the money. She wants to make sure that people are aware of her experience.

“Could be a little kid eating it and not noticing it, and just next thing you know, mouth bleeding or something. So it is concerning,” she added in a statement to a news station. “They felt it was probably a frozen croissant from distribution center and they were going to find the exact location of it.”
