Girl Scout Cookie Sales Skyrocket Thanks to Cannabis Customers

Girl Scouts throughout the country who are staking out places to sell their sweet goods this month are taking a tip from one of their members who experienced a sell-out of inventory by positioning her stand right outside a medical marijuana dispensary in San Francisco. Now an increasing number of Girl Scouts are understanding that what matters most when it comes to the sale of their boxes of Thin Mints, Shortbreads and Samoas is location, location, location. They are moving their cookie sale stands away from such traditional selling places as grocery stores and dry cleaners to seek out medical clinics licensed to sell cannabis, an herbal drug which often causes its users to crave snack foods.

Officials at the Girl Scouts organization are saying that although they do not specifically encourage the practice of selling outside medical marijuana clinics, they also leave the location where their scouting members sell up to the discretion of their parents. As long as the cookie selling location offers a safe place for commerce to take place, selling to marijuana customers isn’t being frowned upon by either Girl Scout officials or members’ parents. In fact, most parents are cheering the increased sales results.
