Search For Missing Maddie Gains Traction (PHOTO)

Two e-fits of the new suspect have been made public
It has been almost six years since Madeleine “Maddie” McCann went missing during a family holiday in Portugal. Now a television show that aired in Germany regarding the missing toddler from Great Britain has generated 500 new leads about her disappearance after her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, pleaded with viewers to contact police regarding any tidbit of information that might help law enforcement locate their missing daughter.

A 2007 sketch of a suspect based on Miss Tanner’s sighting – now ruled out
The McCanns had left Maddie alone in their room when they had a dinner engagement, and when they checked in on her just a short while later, she was already missing, although no ransom note or kidnapping call was ever received.
The German television program Aktenzeichen XY decided to focus on the case of the missing Maddie and was watched by more than 7 million viewers, the show’s highest rating since 2008.
Officials said that leads were already coming in regarding the child’s disappearance as soon as promotional spots began airing for the program, although they cautioned that they could not be certain how many of the leads might actually be substantial enough to help locate the missing British girl. Her parents remain hopeful that she will be found alive since police have no evidence she was murdered.
