School Teacher nods out on Heroin in Class

Students in a Pittsburgh, PA school have just seen first-hand that drug abuse can affect any person of any class. They also have physically seen what heroin does to a person.

Christopher Chiapetta was performing as a substitute teacher when he passed out in class, due to the almost narcoleptic effect that heroin has on people. He was under the influence of heroin.

Eleven children were present in the classroom when he passed out. The school contacted the police and the police came on the scene and arrested the substitute teacher. Perhaps schools should have better criteria for hiring substitute teachers.

Chiapetta is looking at spending some time in jail and paying some hefty fines. The police found four bags of heroin on his person, and an additional bag of marijuana, which made matters worse. Police have charged him with various drug charges as well as the crime of endangering the lives of children.

The courts have scheduled a hearing for later this month. Currently, the police are holding Chiapetta in jail with a $10,000 bail amount. So far, no one has been listed as his representation, and no one has bailed him out of jail. He is most likely finished with his substituting days.
