Amanda Bynes’ Psychiatric Hold Order Extended

News of the “fire-starting” Amanda Bynes made headlines this week. According to reports Ms. Bynes illegally started a fire in a stranger’s driveway; burned her dog and nearly set herself on fire. It was painfully obvious that the actress was in dire need of expert help before she spiraled completely out of control.

According to MTV News, Bynes’ parents were further jolted by the realization that their daughter has blown through almost 1.5 million during the past months.

The former Hollywood teen star has racked up financial problems, personal problems and legal woes seemingly faster than Lindsay Lohan. As the truths about this disturbed young woman began to be unearthed it was obvious that actions would be taken to extend Amanda Bynes’ psychiatric hold order.

Now a judge in CA has given permission to keep Bynes in a psychiatric facility for at least 14 more days.

The original 5150 psych hold order had been scheduled to expire this week. Bynes’ parents had formally requested that their daughter be confined to the mental health facility team for her own safety.

The legal system has agreed that this plan will be in the best interest of the actress and the public is to issue a 5250 psych hold at this time. This will give the psychiatric team, attorneys and Bynes’ parents a chance to intervene in Amanda’s “speeding train wreck of a life” before she inflicts further harm upon herself or others.
