Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has released the latest edition of her Goop newsletter, outlining what she considers fashion essentials that every well dressed woman should have in her spring closet.
Even loyal Gwyneth groupies, however, were shocked to discover that the total bill for owning every item that Paltrow is recommending comes to a shocking $458,003, an amount that can be easily covered by an Oscar-winning actress but not for most women who are just making ends meet.
Among the items that Paltrow is seen modeling in the newsletter and which she categorizes as “must-haves” for the spring fashion season are a leopard Charlotte Olympia handbag for $925, pricey $575 Jimmy Choo shoes, Maiyet-designed shorts costing $475, a leather crop top in white priced at only $425, a Swarovski crystal necklace for $795 and a St. Laurent bracelet with a $1595 price tag.
“Perfect for work, team an eye-catching and colorful skirt with your workwear basics,” Chris Martin’s wife writes, highlighting a $855 McQ Alexander McQueen butterfly skirt.
And for just $1,615, shoppers can add a gorgeous Temperley London satin-and-tulle maxi skirt to their wardrobe.
“For a night in with guests, a long skirt manages to look dressed up while still conveying a relaxed feel,” she explains.
The cost of even one outfit modeled by Paltrow among the looks she considers “our picks” will set back a working girl as much as $1,000, more than most working women budget for all of their clothing and accessories to carry them through spring. Paltrow may be needing all of these wardrobe changes herself, however, because she begins a nationwide book tour starting in April.
