23-year-old actress Jennifer Lawrence is a unique blend of beauty, character depth, and strength which has given her broad appeal in a wide range of roles staring with the indomitable big sister protecting her family which won her critical acclaim in the film “Winter’s Bone” and culminating in the film “The Hunger Games” which sequel promises to be a blockbuster smash this Thanksgiving Day season.

However, there are those who criticize her for the shape of her body and expect her to diet. The lovely actress from Kentucky does not do enough to maintain a skinnier body in the mind of some, but Lawrence could care less about what they think and in a Q&A interview for the upcoming “Hunger Games” sequel, she simply suggested they could “screw themselves”. She went on to explain that our physical appearance is already defined and we should accept ourselves.

“You look like you look, and be comfortable. What are you going to do — be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That’s just dumb,” Lawrence said

She also expressed anger that the press condones calling others fat, and adds, “It’s disappointing the media keeps it alive and fuels that fire, because I love to eat.”

Lawrence is clear that she enjoys eating food and it is a part of her day that is pleasing to her. When she was initially cast in the role of Katniss Everdeen in the “Hunger Games” there were critics who cited her body was too shapely to for role of the film’s tomboyish heroine.

Interviewed in Harper’s Bazaar magazine, Lawrence said she was labelled “fat” and encouraged to lose weight by producers.

“It was just the kind of shit that actresses have to go through,” said the 23-year-old winner of this year’s Oscar for best actress. “Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight.

“They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet. They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn’t still hurt me.”

Lawrence said she had developed a technique for dealing with such issues after Academy recognition for her role in David O Russell comedy drama Silver Linings Playbook and box office glory for last year’s The Hunger Games. “If anybody even tries to whisper the word ‘diet, I’m like, ‘You can go fuck yourself,” she said.
