It may simply be the latest in vogue thing for a celebrity diva to state which British soap opera she fancies, but Lady Gaga has officially declared her passion for the “East Enders” which drama is now in its 28th year. Gaga’s comments come one week after another famous diva Britney Spears let fans know how much she enjoys “Coronation Street” which this December will celebrate 53 years on the air.

Needless to say, both popular soap operas are rivals. Gaga recently found herself seated next to none other than the 86-year-old actress June Brown who has played one of the show’s main characters “Dot Branning” since the show’s inception back in 1985. In fact, it’s reported that Gaga told Brown that she wanted to drink from her glass of wine to understand “what those genes are”. That is high praise indeed from the flamboyant diva.

The two met while being interviewed on the BBC One comedy interview program called “The Graham Norton Show”. In one pose, an elegant Brown was seen standing next to a scantily clad Gaga who wore a mermaid-like outfit with clam shell-like breast cups along with a fully exposed belly. In the photograph, Gaga also toted Brown’s newly released autobiography.

“It’s how I deal with my insanity,” she said. “From when I was young I had voices in my head and for the longest time I was drinking and doing a lot of drugs and it was the clothing and the artistry that saved me. I get sheer joy out of creativity, it’s like a psychedelic experience for me.”

Lady Gaga will perform ‘Do What U Want’ on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (November 8), while Jude Law and Greg Davies will also appear.
