Russell Brand Reveal Girlfriend, Not Identity

Recently, US Magazine reported that Russell Brand confirmed his relationship status as no longer being single. He has yet to identify the woman he considers his girlfriend, but he apparently let it slip in an interview that he was rushing off to see his girlfriend not to catch a flight. Afterward he asked, “Is the camera still on?”

The British comedian has been seen out and about with socialite Jemima Khan a lot in the past few months, but he has not mention her by name. In September he said he was single, but a few weeks prior to that he mentioned to The Guardian that he was “beleagured by a nerdish, whirling dervish.” Were they together and did they break up? Are they back together?

Brand was married to Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012. Both seem to have moved on now and Perry is dating fellow singer John Mayer.

Perry recently opened up about their divorce in an interview with the U.K.’s Sunday Times, telling the paper she “was in bed for about two weeks” after their split.

“I was pretty f–ked, yes. It hurt a lot — I got a good knock,” the “Roar” singer admitted, likening the emotional beating she took to getting “punched in the face and kicked down the stairs a couple of times.”

Jemima Khan, whom Brand may or may not be dating, is Hugh Grant’s ex as well as New Stateman’s associate editor. Brand has also recently been linked to Ferne McCann, a twenty-three year old actress known for the show “The Only Way is Essex.” Maybe so he will reveal his secret lady’s identity.

Questioned by HuffPost UK about the perception that he’s a misogynist, the outspoken Brit admitted he wasn’t the best person to ask.

“I don’t think I am sexist,” he told the audience. “But now I remember my grandmother. My grandmother was the loveliest person I’ve ever known, but she was racist! And I don’t think she knew!”

“I don’t know if I have some cultural hangover. I certainly don’t want to be a sexist. I certainly don’t want to judge anybody on the basis of stuff that they can’t help, or stuff that they can help, to be honest. I don’t think it’s my position to judge,” he explained. “I know that I have a great love of proletariat linguistics, like ‘darling’ and ‘bird’…so if women think I’m sexist, they’re in a better position to judge than I am, so I’ll work on that.”

meanwhile Brand joined protesters last night in a ‘Million Mask March’ against cuts, corruption and an increase in state surveillance in the UK.

According to the Independent, the comedian was one of thousands to protest wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, designed to “unite activists”.

Hacktivist group Anonymous claimed the march in Whitehall and Trafalgar Square aimed to “spark the movement back into action against the persecution of internet freedom”.
