JLo and Marc Anthony Getting Sued for $25M in Theft of Reality Show Concept

New York City, NY – Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and her philandering husband Marc Anthony are being sued for $25 million by John Jacobs. Jacobs alleges that he pitched to the couple the idea of a reality show called “Miami Beach: The Game” over the period 2007 to 2008. The concept was simple: have to prominent Latin American celebrities search a popular destination in a quest to find the next big star. He was in regular conversations with their production company about the idea when they abruptly ceased taking his calls.

Next thing he noticed was ads featuring Lopez and Anthony for a new reality TV show called “Q’Viva” which featured the Latin couple scouring a dozen locations in Latin America recruiting the best talent in dance, singing, and music. Sound eerily familiar? It certain did to Jacobs. Anthony and Lopez are now in the final stages of a divorce they announced back in 2011. However, the demise of their relationship doesn’t absolve them of any liabilities if they indeed took Jacobs’ concept without compensating him.

Hollywood is notorious for stealing ideas. The franchise “Nightmare on Elm Street” was the brain child of Wes Craven who had to shop years for a producer to take up the project. However, Craven found himself cut out of the profits once a production company made the film.
